The milk thistle comes from the Ošťádal family farm in Moravian Slovakia.

Cultivation and Sowing

Seeds are sown directly into open-ground beds in spring, during March–April, at a depth of 2–3 cm.

The recommended row spacing is 50 cm. Germination takes about 3 weeks, but pre-soaking the seeds can shorten this time.

Plant in a sunny location with high-quality organic soil.

Seed collection for the next season or for processing takes place in August, after the plant has flowered.

Sowing: March–April, directly into the bed in a sunny location.

Harvest

Seeds are harvested in August after flowering — either for use in the next growing season or for further processing.
