Leave pebbles and mineral chips at the bottom of the container or garden hole to help with drainage.

Smooth the soil and press it down lightly with your palm or a small hoe.

The soil surface should be about 2–5 cm below the rim of the container.

– Step 2: Sow the seeds, seedlings, or bulbs and lightly cover them with soil.

Water gently using a watering can — ideally with a fine sprinkler head.

– Step 3: Once the seeds have germinated, air the room frequently.

Place the seedlings in a sunny or at least bright location.

– Step 4: Keep the soil evenly moist.

A spray bottle is useful for delicate watering.

Avoid soggy soil — the minerals and stones at the bottom will help prevent overwatering.
